On the morning of May 24, the Faculty of English Language (NNA) at Lạc Hồng University officially hosted the Opening Ceremony for the STEM-focused EnglishWorks! 2024 program. The event took place at the Co-working Space, Campus 2.

In her keynote speech, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Lan highlighted the vital role of English in the modern era. She expressed her sincere gratitude to SEAMEO RETRAC for their trust and support, noting that this project paves the way for further strategic collaborations between the two institutions.

About the EnglishWorks! Project
EnglishWorks! is a career-oriented English program jointly organized by SEAMEO RETRAC, the Regional English Language Office (RELO), and the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City.
Target Participants: Disadvantaged youth who are currently studying or have graduated from technical fields, including those currently employed or seeking work, who demonstrate a strong desire for self-improvement and potential for socio-economic contribution.
Scholarship Benefits: Selected students receive 100% full sponsorship for tuition fees and learning materials.

Core Objectives and Long-term Impact
The project aims to empower young professionals by enhancing essential English skills for job seeking and entrepreneurship, with a specific focus on STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Additionally, the program fosters leadership skills and critical thinking.
In the context of rapid digital transformation and the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and semiconductor technology, this educational partnership is crucial for enhancing the capacity of the young workforce in high-tech sectors. Each specialized class is limited to 30 students and runs for a duration of 6 months to 1 year.
