EDUCATION

SDGs in Education

Lac Hong University integrates sustainability and the SDGs across its academic curricula, enabling students in all disciplines to engage with relevant environmental, social, and economic challenges. Alongside this university-wide approach, LHU offers dedicated sustainability-focused degrees and electives in areas such as health, psychology, sustainable food, sustainable economy, environmental science, green energy, renewable energy, cleaner production, sustainable tourism, and responsible resource management.

Sustainable Literacy Measurement

Lac Hong University measures students’ sustainability literacy through a structured baseline assessment covering sustainability knowledge, attitudes, and behaviours across environmental, social, and economic dimensions. Coordinated by the Office of Educational Testing and Quality Assurance, the assessment is conducted periodically across academic programmes. Results are analysed to identify learning gaps, improve curriculum integration, guide sustainability activities, and monitor students’ progress over time.

OPERATIONS

SDGs in the Wider Community

Lac Hong University extends SDG and sustainability education beyond campus through in-person, blended, and digital approaches, including formal, non-formal, and informal learning. Workshops, seminars, training, and outreach engage alumni, school students, local residents, professionals, and government officials in environmental, social, economic, health, employability, entrepreneurship, AI, cybersecurity, and digital skills. These activities are coordinated by the Office of Student Affairs, Youth Union–Student Association, and academic faculties, in collaboration with industry and government partners, strengthening lifelong learning, workforce readiness, innovation, community resilience, and shared responsibility for people and the planet.

Collaboration with NGOs for SDGs

Since 2021, Lac Hong University has regularly and periodically implemented its voluntary blood donation programme in collaboration with the Dong Nai Red Cross Society and Cho Ray Hospital Blood Transfusion Center, with support from partners such as C.P. Vietnam. Over six years (2021–2026), the programme has reached 55 editions, from the 45th to the 55th drive, contributing at least 3,204 documented blood units. In 2025, the 52nd drive collected 340 units; in 2026, the 54th and 55th drives collected 263 and 227 units, respectively, totalling 490 units. The total excludes the 53rd drive because its blood-unit figure was not provided.
