It can be said that employment after graduation is always a concern for any student. Understanding this concern, Lac Hong University has identified a solution: to equip students with entrepreneurial skills and knowledge, enabling them to establish businesses and implement real projects while still studying at the University.
To create conditions for achieving the goal of helping students start their own businesses, in 2017, Lac Hong University established the Startup Club under the leadership of Dr. Nguyễn Văn Tân – Member of the National Innovative Startup Advisory Council (VSMA); Executive Committee Member of the Southern Startup Advisory and Support Council; Member of the Coordination and Support Council for the Innovative Startup Ecosystem of Dong Nai Province; Member of the Dong Nai Women Startup Club; Head of the Innovative Startup Department of LHU; Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration – International Economics (FAIE) at LHU; Lecturer of the Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Council (VWEC); and Entrepreneurship Trainer in SIYB, CEFE, ACSE, IPP, and MEP programs. During its operation, the Club has successfully helped student projects be implemented in practice and achieved notable accomplishments such as: Second Prize at the National Startup Competition in 2017; First and Third Prizes at the Southern Startup Competition in 2017; and more recently, First Prize at the Engineering Projects in Community Service (EPICS 2021), First Prize at the CiC 2021 Startup Idea Competition, and Top 10 of the “National Startup” Program 2021.
Recently, several Faculties of Lac Hong University have collaborated to establish a Startup Support Network for Faculties, including: the Faculty of Business Administration – International Economics, the Faculty of English Language, the Faculty of Oriental Studies, the Faculty of Civil Engineering, and the Faculty of Food Science and Technology. The first activity aimed at bringing value to students is the talk show “Startup Journey,” featuring speakers who are current students and alumni who have successfully launched startups through competitions.
To effectively implement the program for students from different Faculties—since each discipline has its own orientation and advantages—on January 13, 2022, the Faculties held an online meeting to understand the aspirations and expectations of students from various majors and to develop an effective implementation plan for the competition.
Let’s look forward to this exciting upcoming program! See you at 18:00 on January 22, 2022.
